What is HCA?
Henderson County Academy is a non-traditional, voluntary program using flexible scheduling, and creating an alternative for students who may benefit from a differently structured, independent approach to credit achievement.
The program will address the educational needs of students and allow progress toward academic completion of a diploma for those not on track to graduate with their entering freshman class.
How Do I Apply?
- Students must be referred if currently attending Henderson County High School.
- Students must take the MAP test to determine grade level reading.
- Student will have an intake interview with Head Teacher, Lesli Werner. If student is under 18, guardian is requested to be present.
- Student placement will be based upon a committee review.
- Student will begin classes upon acceptance into program.
Graduation Requirements
- Twenty-four (24) credits to fulfill state requirements
- Writing Portfolio to fulfill state requirements
- Assessment tests to fulfill state requirements
