Child Find For Children with Disabilities
Birth – Twenty-one (21)
The Henderson County School System has an ongoing CHILD FIND Program that consists of activities throughout the school year. The purpose of the CHILD FIND Program is to find any child or youth, from birth to twenty-one (21) years of age, who may have a disability, regardless of the severity, and may need special education or 504 services. Henderson County Schools are looking for those children and youth not in school or those who are in school, including private or home school, but still need special services.
If you have information or know a child or youth who lives in Henderson County that may need special education or 504 services, please call, email or send a letter with the child or youth’s name, age and possible disability or any other information to help determine if special services are needed; AND the parent/guardian’s name, address, phone number or any other contact information to the below person. Any information the district collects through CHILD FIND about children and youth who may have disabilities is kept confidential.
