Speech-Language Pathology Services

Our school has two specialists that provide speech-language pathology services to our students.  Speech and language pathology services include more that just correcting speech (articulation) errors.  Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) help students in the areas of phonological awareness (letter sounds), vocabulary, comprehension, grammar, verbal expression, social language, hearing, fluency (stuttering), voice, augmentation/alternative communication and swallowing.
If you ever have concerns about your child's communication skills, please call the school and ask to speak to Holly Loffand, CCC/SPL or Dawn Prescott, SLPA.

LIDP Classroom

Our classroom has the honor of being the only elementary program of its kind in Hendrson County.  We are known as the LIDP classroom, or Low Incidence Disabilities Program.  Formerly called an FMD unit, our program is specially designed for students with intensive needs.  We focus on academic instruction that is adapted to the specific need of each individual as well as building social skills, adaptive skills, and increasing independence.  We have fun and learn about how to grow up to be successful adults.  We have a wonderful, loving and caring staff who give 110% for our students and always make learning our priority.
