Juniors, Tyler Alexander and Elijah Folsom, as well as senior, Kaleb Hilton have been chosen for the All-State Choir. Erin O'Nan, a junior, will participate in the All-State Concert Band on clarinet. Senior, Brant Ford earned the first chair alto saxophone spot in the Symphonic Band, making him the top high school alto saxophonist in the state this year.
These students will travel with HCHS Choir and Band directors Andrew Miller, Charlie McManus, and Adam Thomas to the 2017 KMEA Conference in Louisville this week to rehearse with the All-State ensembles and perform in the Kentucky Center for the Arts Whitney Hall.
The All-State Choir performs in the evening on Friday, February 10, 2017 and the All State Bands will give their concert in the afternoon on Saturday, February 11, 2017.
Ford was also selected to the Bands of America National Honor Band, which will perform in Indianapolis this March.
The high school music department teachers stated, "This is a wonderful honor for these five students and a real testament to their individual drive to achieve great things in music. We, and the entire high school, are very proud of them."
