Substitute Information

Certified Substitute Qualifications

If chosen to be a substitute teacher, you must fulfill the following requirements:
  • 64 College Credit Hours with a GPA of 2.45 or above (official transcript with seal needed)
  • Physical examination using the Medical Examination of School Employees Form
  • TB skin test
  • Crime check ($32 fee)
  • Drug screening ($20 fee)
  • Application completed online
  • Three recommendations completed online

Classified Substitute Qualifications

Classified positions needing substitutes include secretaries/bookkeepers, daycare, instructional assistants, lunchroom monitors, cooks, custodians and nurses.

If chosen to be a substitute, you must fulfill the following requirements:
  • High school diploma, GED or its equivalent
  • Physical examination using the Medical Examination of School Employees Form
  • TB skin test
  • Crime check ($32 fee)
  • Drug screening ($20 fee)
  • Application completed online
  • Three recommendations completed online
