Special Education Minimize
Special Education teachers service students who were  determined to be eligible to receive specially designed instruction. If a child is struggling in his/her classroom and various interventions were not successful, the child is recommended to receive a multidisciplinary team assessment. If eligible, a meeting is held to write an individualized educational plan (IEP) for that child.  The child is serviced within the regular classroom as much as possible, but might receive some instruction in a smaller resource setting. Speech services are also offered for those children who qualify for articulation, voice, fluency or language problems.

At Niagara School, we have two special education teachers, Tresa Skaggs and Jill Conrad. Judy Pike is the special education program assistant.  Karen Long is our speech/language therapist. Please contact us at 831-5142 if you ever have questions about our program.
