Henderson County Schools Early Childhood Department strives to provide every child opportunities to reach his/her full potential of excellence and success. We do this by focusing on the child's physical, cognitive, language, social and emotional development. Children are encouraged to solve problems, initiate activities, explore and learn by doing.
Children are eligible for preschool according to the following State guidelines:

Must be 4 years of age on or before October 1st of the current school year and eligible for free meals

3 or 4 years of age with special needs which may include difficulties with speech, language, and/or motor skills . There are no income guidelines for children with special needs.

Tuition spots are based on availability and the child must still meet the age requirement.
South Heights has a morning and afternoon session that services twenty students per session. In each session there is a teacher and two program assistants. If interested in enrolling please contact Natalie Reynolds at 831-8720.
