South Middle School Late Work Policy 2011-12
The SMS Late Work Policy is a school-wide initiative that students and teachers will follow. It is designed to teach students responsibility and timeliness. Another purpose is to ensure students are ready for the rigorous demands of high school. The district goal is to have all students prepared for college and/or a career after high school. If you have any questions about this policy please contact the school.
· An assignment that is one day late will have 10% of the score deducted prior to grading.
· An assignment that is two through nine days late will have 30% of score deducted prior to grading.
· An assignment that is two weeks or more late will have 40% of the score deducted prior to grading.
If a student has an excused absence, they will be given ample time to turn their assignments in without penalty.
