Thompson received a Bachelor of Science with teaching certifications in science and math at the middle school level and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Murray State University.
Additionally, Thompson holds certifications in the areas of Instructional Leadership – Principal and Instructional Leadership Supervisor of Instruction.
Thompson has 21 years of educational experience at all grade levels: elementary assistant principal, middle school teacher and principal, and high school teacher, assistant principal and principal. Thompson has served as the Coordinating Principal of Henderson County High School for the past five years and will start his new position at the Henderson County Schools Central Office on July 1, 2019.
Thompson noted, “I am proud to have been offered the position of Director and Teaching and Learning for secondary schools. I am looking forward to working with all of the secondary schools to help expand the horizons of our students.
