Henderson County Schools Families and Staff,
Our first priority is the safety of our students and staff. Additionally, we value in-person learning over any other mode of instruction. As a proactive measure, for the two weeks of November 23rd and November 30th, all Henderson County Schools will utilize non-traditional instruction (NTI) as our mode of instruction. Childcare centers at Bend Gate, East Heights, and Thelma B. Johnson Early Learning Center will remain open on November 23rd and November 24th and the week of November 30th (closed November 25th-27th).
Moving forward, our Hybrid model provides the best avenue of combined student and staff safety while at school. As our staffing is affected by quarantines, we will use NTI when necessary. Prior to beginning classes on the Hybrid schedule, we will take all precautions to make our buildings as safe as possible for students and staff. Our teachers and custodial staff do a tremendous amount of work to ensure the safety of our students and staff throughout the district.
We understand the frustration, confusion, and concern that you have experienced as a parent, staff member, and community member since last spring. While this is not an easy decision to make, we feel it is the responsible decision to make during this time.
Our next mode of instruction will be announced Wednesday, December 2nd by 4:00 p.m. We anticipate returning to our Hybrid Model on Monday, December 7. During our upcoming Thanksgiving break, it is crucial to practice all CDC guidelines to include social distancing, wearing a mask, and hand washing. Thank you for doing your part to make our community safe and helping our kids to return to school.
We appreciate your support and understanding as we continue to navigate a steady course through these unprecedented times.
We are Henderson County Schools, and We Pursue Excellence
