The Henderson County School System has an ongoing CHILD FIND Program that consists of activities throughout the school year. The purpose of the CHILD FIND Program is to find any child or youth, from birth to twenty-one (21) years of age, who may have a disability, regardless of the severity, and may need special education or 504 services. Henderson County Schools are looking for those children and youth not in school or those who are in school, including private or home school, but still need special services.

USDA Approves Two More Schools for CEP Program

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved two more schools for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which allows schools to offer free lunch to all students.  Cairo Elementary and East Heights Elementary will join seven other local schools offering breakfast and lunch available at no cost to all students.  The other seven schools include Thelma B. Johnson Early Learning Center, A.B. Chandler, Bend Gate, Jefferson, Niagara, South Heights, and Central Academy.

UPDATED: Henderson County Schools Summer Feeding Program Locations

Henderson County Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children age 18 and under without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
