As a product of this school system, I am beyond proud to be a Colonel. It is humbling knowing I get to work with the very best students, staff, families, and community.  I look forward to continuing the hard work of our previous leadership in providing extraordinary educational opportunities for the students in Henderson County.”

Henderson County Schools Superintendent Bob Lawson said Sandefur’s leadership and experiences have prepared her to succeed in her new role. He commented, “Mrs. Sandefur is a true Colonel.  She is a product of Henderson County Schools and has invested her entire career in Henderson County Schools.  She has been a leader in the classroom, then as an instructional coach, assistant principal, principal and district level leader all the while pursuing higher degrees for her own education.  I am honored to have Mrs. Sandefur alongside me as assistant superintendent and look forward to partnering with her in our continued pursuit of excellence in Henderson County Schools.”
