Henderson County High School and Henderson Community Theatre presents It’s a Wonderful Life: The Live Radio Play on Friday, December 2nd at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 3rd at 7:00 p.m. at the Preston Arts Center.
This beloved American holiday classic is performed as a live 1940s radio broadcast with the addition of sound effects occurring live, as they did in radio shows of the past.
The cast includes both HCHS students and Henderson community theatre members.
“Partnering the HCHS theatre students with members of the Henderson Community Theatre and the Preston Arts Center has been a great mentorship program for our students to work alongside community theatre veterans. The message of the play is the importance of relationships and friendships. Our hope is to get everyone in the holiday spirit this weekend so everyone is invited,” affirms A.J. Casey, play director and HCHS theatre teacher.
Pre-show activities will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the foyer with live music, kids games, a photo booth, and concessions.
Tickets are $10.00 each and may be purchased at the door.
WSON radio will broadcast the play live on on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Additionally, it will rebroadcast on the radio on Christmas Eve at 4:00 p.m. and again on Christmas Day at noon.
