Nickel Initiative

We are incredibly grateful to the citizens of Henderson County for your commitment to excellence in education. Your support of the nickel tax, passed in November 2015, has made it possible for Henderson County Schools to invest in safe, modern, and energy-efficient learning environments for all students.

This investment allows our district to move forward with long-term facility improvements guided by our state-approved Facility Plan—a plan developed through a collaborative process involving teachers, principals, district leaders, parents, and community members. The plan prioritizes new construction and critical renovations based on expert evaluations from engineers and architects and is reviewed and approved by the Kentucky Department of Education..
